Description

The Graduate Institute Geneva in Switzerland is the oldest establishment in the world entirely devoted to preparing students for an international career, including jobs in universities. The Institute offers disciplinary and interdisciplinary study programs for PhD, Master and dual-master degree. This represents one of its unique selling points as the field of international studies is rarely approached in such a broad and comprehensive manner.

The University of Lausanne in Switzerland offers the UNIL Master’s Grants to international students who wish to pursue a Masters Degree at the University.

The grant may not be used for any complementary studies required to enroll on the Master’s degree and may not be used for EMBAs or Masters of Advanced studies.

The amount of the grant is CHF 1,600.- per month from 15 September to 15 July, for a duration not exceeding the regulation minimum period of the programme.

Eligibility:

•  The candidate must be the holder of a degree from a foreign university.

•  The qualification held by the candidate must be deemed equivalent to the UNIL Bachelor’s degree.

The grants are intended more particularly for students who distinguished themselves in their university studies and who have difficulty meeting their financial needs for the duration of the Master’s.

The Master Grant of the University of Bern provides the opportunity to pursue one of the Master degree programmes of the University.

Application is open to highly motivated bachelor graduates (graduated or currently graduating at a non-Swiss university) with outstanding grades and excellent knowledge of the language of instruction.

Exceptions:

Biomedical Science: Biomedical Science is not within the scheme of the Master Grant.

MILE – Master of International Law and Economics:Course fees will be exempted for the Master Grantees except for the Master of International Law and Economics, MILE. For the MILE programme, an annual fee of 10.000 CHF is incurred by the student.

Description of Ideal Candidate:

· Permanent domicile outside of Switzerland at the time of applying,

ETH Zurich supports excellent students wishing to pursue a Master’s degree at ETH with two scholarship programmes: Under the Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) students receive a special scholarship for the duration of their programme as well as specific supervision. The scholarship covers the full study and living costs during their Master’s degree course. Under the Master Scholarship Programme (MSP) students receive a partial stipend during their Master’s degree course and the offer of an assistantship.


Description of Ideal Candidate:

The scholarship programmes are open to excellent students both from the ETH and from other universities (national and international) wishing to pursue their Master’s degree at ETH Zurich. The prerequisite is a very good result in their Bachelor’s. Students must belong to the best 10 percent of their Bachelor’s programme.


Cost :

The Excellence Scholarship consists of a grant covering living and study expenses (CHF 1,750 per month) as well as a tuition fee waiver. The scholarship begins when the student commences his or her Master’s degree and is awarded for the regular duration of the Master’s programme (three or four semesters). It is awarded independently of the scholarship holder’s financial situation.

The Master Scholarship Programme consists of a partial stipend for living and study expenses (CHF 850 per month during the first semester and CHF 600 per month from the second semester onwards) as well as a tuition fee waiver. After the first semester there is the possibility of taking on an assistantship (with a payment of CHF 600 per month).

USI Study Grants 2015 for Bachelor’s & Master’s in Informatics, Switzerland.

There are up to 5 study grants offered by University of Lugano for students to start their Bachelor/ Master studies first year at Faculty of Informatics, USI in period of September 2015. Each of the bursary will contribute to annual tuition fee. They will be renewable for 2 years for the Bachelor degree and for 1 year for the Master degree (cover full tuition fee at each study program). Deadline announced for these bursary application is 31st July 2015.

These scholarships provided to pursuing a Bachelor or a Master studies within all subjects available in the Faculty of Informatics at University of Italian Switzerland

Eiligibility criteria for these bursary are; applicant must be considered as starting the first year in their studies at Faculty of Informatics, USI in September 2015.

For the Bachelor program, applicant must be graduated from their high school at 2015 by at least 5/6 cumulative grade point average, Swiss high school diploma holders are eligible, or minimum of 85/100 for high school diploma holders applicant at another country.

For the Master programme, applicant must finished their prior academic degree (Bachelor) with minimum 80/100 final GPA. Besides, their resumes might also considered.

Scholarship Value

Each of the bursary will corresponds to annual tuition fee for whole study program. These study grant will be awarded as the tuition fee reduction and might not be exchanged as cash.

  • a letter of motivation
  • a pre-proposal for your Master’s thesis
  • letters of recommendation from two professors

All information provided in the application must be complete and correct. The pre-proposal for the Master’s thesis must be developed by the applicant him/herself and use established scientific citation practice.

Plagiarism, negligent or intentional misinformation will lead to exclusion from the admission process or – if discovered later – to the revocation of the admission and of any scholarship.

If you are applying for more than one Master’s program, please submit a separate application form for each degree program.

You can only apply for an Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme or a Master Scholarship Programme if you, at the same time, apply for a Master’s degree programme at ETH Zurich (or if you, as an ETH Bachelor student, continue with a consecutive Master’s degree programme). If you are already enrolled in a Master’s degree programme at ETH Zurich, you are not eligible to apply for this scholarship anymore.

The scholarship begins when the student commences his or her Master’s degree and is awarded for the regular duration of the Master’s programme (three or four semesters). The Master Scholarship consists of a partial stipend for living and study expenses (CHF 6,000 per semester) as well as a tuition fee waiver. The department can additionally provide a scholarship of CHF 1,500 – 3,000 per semester or offer an assistantship from the second semester onwards (with a payment of CHF 600 per month).

The scholarship begins when the student commences his or her Master’s degree and is awarded for the regular duration of the Master’s programme (three or four semesters). It is awarded independently of the scholarship holder’s financial situation. The Master Scholarship Programme requires a financial contribution from the scholarship holder

Switzerland-University of Lugano Study Grants for Master’s Programme in 2015-2016

For the academic year 2015/2016, the Foundation for the Lugano Faculties of the Università della Svizzera Italiana will award a total of 60 one-off study grants of the amount of CHF 4’000 each.

The merit-based grants are given to the students admitted to the first year of a USI Master programme starting in September 2015. Merit is determined by the results of the academic degree that gives access to the Master program (usually the Bachelor’s). The grants will be assigned as follows:

· 20 grants to students that pursued a Bachelor’s degree at a Swiss university;

· 20 grants to students that pursued a Bachelor’s degree at an Italian university;

· 20 grants to students that pursued a Bachelor’s degree at a university from other countries.

Conditions for participation : The applicant must have obtained the Bachelor’s degree (passed all the exams and defended the thesis) by July 31st, 2015 with a cumulative grade point average of at least 80/100. · Applicants must have been admitted to the first year of a USI Master programme beginning in September 2015. Applications from students enrolled in a USI Master before September 1st, 2015 will not be considered.

The deadline for the submission of the applications is July 31st, 2015.

Incomplete or late applications will not be taken into consideration. ·

All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their requests by August 17th, 2015.

Conditions for the payment of the grant

The study grant is awarded in the form of a reduction of the tuition fee and cannot be exchanged for cash. If the beneficiary decides not to register at USI or withdraws after the first semester, he/she may not, under any circumstances, ask for a deposit of CHF 4’000.

For the student recipient of the grant who pays the semester tuition fee of CHF 2’000: · the fall semester fee is covered by the grant; · the student is, however, required to pay the deposit of CHF 1’000 within the deadline indicated in the admission letter to confirm the enrollment. This amount will be refunded by the end of the fall semester; · the spring semester fee is automatically covered by the grant. For the student recipient of the grant who pays the semester tuition fee of CHF 4’000: · the student has to pay the fall semester fee; – students coming from EU/EFTA countries are required to pay a deposit of CHF 1’000 within the deadline indicated in the admission letter to confirm the enrollment and the balance of CHF 3’000 by the time of formal registration; – students coming from the Extra-EU/EFTA countries have to make a payment of CHF 4’000 within the deadline indicated in the admission letter to confirm the enrollment; · the spring semester fee is automatically covered by the grant. The grant cannot be renewed. The grant cannot be cumulated with other scholarships provided by USI.
