Eiffel Scholarships in France for International Students-Master PhD

Brief description:

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme was established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development to enable French higher education establishments to attract top foreign students to enrol in their master’s and PhD courses.

The scholarship programme funds master’s courses lasting between 12 and 36 months and offers funding for PhD students to spend ten months in France through joint supervision or dual enrolment.

Eiffel scholarships are available in three main fields: engineering science at master’s level (science in the broadest sense at PhD level) , economics and management and law & political sciences.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

For Master’s level studies, the Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,181 (a maintenance allowance of €1,031 and a monthly stipend of €150).  For PhD level studies, the Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,400.

In addition, the programme meets various expenses including international return trip, social security cover, and cultural activities. Scholarship holders may also receive an additional housing allowance, under certain conditions.

Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel Programme.

Eligibility:

Nationality: This programme is reserved for candidates of non-French nationality. Candidates with two nationalities, one of which is French, are not eligible.

Age: For master’s courses, candidates must be no older than 30 on the date of the selection committee meeting; at PhD level, candidates must be no older than 35 on the date of the selection committee meeting.

Origin of applications: Only applications submitted by French educational establishments are accepted. These establishments undertake to enrol scholarship holders on the course for which they have been selected. Applications submitted by any other means shall not be considered. Furthermore, any candidate nominated by more than one establishment shall be disqualified.

Courses of study: Scholarships are for students wishing to enrol on a master’s course, including at an engineering school, and for PhD students. The Eiffel Programme does not apply to French-run master’s courses abroad, as non-PhD scholarship holders must complete at least 75% of their course in France. It does not apply to training under an apprenticeship contract or a professional training contract either.

Combination with other scholarships: Foreign students who, at the time of application, have already been awarded a French government scholarship under another programme are not eligible, even if the scholarship in question does not include social security cover.

For Eiffel PhD Scholarship: Establishments may nominate a candidate who was previously awarded an Eiffel scholarship at master’s level for a scholarship at PhD level. Candidates who have already been awarded an Eiffel scholarship once during their PhD cannot be awarded it for a second time. No application will be accepted for any student who applied previously but was rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study.

For Eiffel Master Scholarship:  No application will be accepted for any student who applied previously but was rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study. Students who have already been awarded an Eiffel scholarship at master’s level are not eligible to re-apply at master’s level.

Language level: When pre-selecting non-French-speaking candidates, establishments must make sure that their language skills meet the requirements of the relevant course of study.

Applications are not accepted from students directly. Applications for EIFFEL scholarships are submitted by French Higher Education Institutions. You must apply and meet the requirements of the French Higher Education Institution in order to be considered for the scholarship.  The deadline for applications to Campus France is 8 January 2016. Application deadline to participating French Institutions is earlier and falls around November-December 2015.

International Business Scholarships for International Students in France

Institut de Langues et de Commerce International (ILCI) offers numbers of scholarship to foreign students willing to study MBA in France, ILCI scholarships in MBA in International Business will cover up to 50% of tuition fees according to excellency of candidates. The Lagrange Institute offers scholarships to international students studying physics, astrophysics, astroparticle physics, cosmology and nuclear physics at the Masters 2 (M2) level. The scholarship period is from September 2015 to June 2016. The enrolment might take place at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) in the Master of Physics and Application in the following Master 2 programs: • NPAC (Nuclei, Particles, Astroparticles and Cosmology / Noyaux, Particules, Astroparticules et Cosmologie) – Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Université Paris Diderot, Université Paris Sud, Or • AAIS (Astronomie, Astrophysique et Ingénierie Spatiale / Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering) – Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Observatoire de Paris, Université Paris Diderot, Université Paris-Sud, Ecole Normale Supérieure.

The main objective of the school career is to offer the opportunity to the top-class international students with an excellent background in physics to study in Paris the large breadth of topics such as astrophysics, cosmology, particle and nuclear physics, astroparticle physics, etc. This programme is a way to train future researchers at the early stage of their scientific careers.

The academic year extends from the 1st of September, 2015 to the 30th of June, 2016 and takes place in different places in Paris and Orsay (depending on the program/speciality).

The scholarship is open to students of all nationalities, eligible to the Master Program and fulfilling at least the following requirements:
• To hold a Bachelor degree / Master 1 degree / Engineering Diploma in Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics (or a certified equivalent amount of learning in the same field, quantified as 4 years of previous studies corresponding to at least 240 credits in the European Credit Transfer System),
• To have a solid background in fundamental physics, mathematics, astrophysics,
• To have a good knowledge of French for AAIS program.

A monthly scholarship of 1100 euros is offered from the 1st of September up to the 30th of June of the academic year. During the academic training, the student will be enrolled for a Master internship (3-3,5 months) in astrophysics, astroparticle physics, high energy physics, nuclear physics, theoretical physics which is granted at least 450 euros/month (to be granted by the hosting laboratory).
500 euros dedicated to installation fee will also be provided.

For information, for the academic year 2014-2015, the registration fees to the Master programs of theUPMC are 256 euros. The cost of the annual social insurance is 213 euros.
These fees and the travel expenses shall be borne by the candidate.

For successful candidates an administrative support will be provided by the UPMC services to establish visas, help with registration at University and daily questions.

Accommodation

The ILP, via the UPMC, provides rooms, which might be available at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris (CIUP), located in the 14th district of Paris. The part paid by the student corresponds to an average cost of 400-500 euros/month. A state subsidy may be provided for accommodation (about 100 euros for a room at the CIUP).

Call for international master’s scholarships for incoming mobility- 2015-2016

Description

The Université Paris-Saclay would like to give foreign students access to its master’s (nationally-certified degree) programs provided in its member establishments and to make it easier for highly-qualified foreign students to attend its University especially those wishing to develop an academic project through research up to the doctoral level.

Consequently, 190 scholarships will be offered for the 2015-2016 academic year. They will be awarded for one or two years depending on whether the student enters the 1st or 2nd year of a master’s program (M1 or M2).

Beneficiaries:

Students wishing to obtain a master’s degree in one of Paris-Saclay University’s member establishments (entering an M1 or an M2 directly). Does not apply to internships and work-study programs.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The program is available for first-time arrivals, aged 30 years old or less the year of acceptance.
  • The program only applies to non-French national students.

Training/Discipline:

Amount of financial aid and student accommodations:

  • The Université Paris-Saclay scholarship is 10,000€ per year awarded by the establishment the candidate is registered in for the duration of the academic year and for a period of no less than 10 consecutive months per year.
  • A maximum of 1,000€ for travel and VISA expenses is also awarded depending on the candidate’s country of origin.
  • The scholarship does not cover tips for internships and cannot be cumulated with any other scholarship.
  • The scholarship will be suspended if internship tips exceed 600€.
  • Paris-Saclay University scholarship recipients must follow their program (courses and internship) in one of Paris-Saclay University’s establishments. The scholarship will be suspended during the time the student attends courses or performs an internship in another establishment in France or abroad or in a company outside the perimeter of Paris-Saclay. If, during the program, the student spends time studying abroad, the scholarship will be interrupted during the time the student is abroad, with no possibility to defer the scholarship.
  • Students are welcomed in the establishments they are registered in, establishments that commit to helping them find living accommodations.
